Today, let’s hit the road early. After 70km of paved roads to escape the city, it's officially onto the dirt! Ride 60km on small dirt roads and singletrack trails to reach Phou Khao Kouay National Park.
As the steep rocky trails are quite challenging, you can ask the tour guide to switch to the easier dirt road if you don’t feel too confident.
En route on the Laos tour, recharge energy with a drink at a H’mong tribal village before getting back to the trails.
Then meet your support vehicle for lunch before cruising along winding tarmac roads through the hills to Long Cheng—an old CIA air base nestled among karst limestone mountains.
End the day with cold beers and a BBQ on the runway that was once the busiest in the world. Take a moment to imagine what was happening in this area 50-60 years ago.

Start the day with a final ride along the runway, then venture onto dirt and gravel roads winding up through the mountains. Along the way, stop in H'mong villages, where you'll be struck by the abundance of war remains still lying around. It's not every day you come across such many old cluster bomb casings, some are even used as stilts.
Afterward, drive 35km of paved roads before and after lunch in Phonsavanh, then return to dirt paths. These dirt roads narrow throughout the afternoon with increasingly stunning views. We keep navigating steep tracks through bamboo forests and pass over the Nam Khan River on a bamboo bridge.
To round the day off, you'll dine in a cozy local "hot pot" restaurant and if you feel like it, stop by the karaoke bar for some lively entertainment!

After breakfast, continue your Laos itinerary for 7 days with a relaxing drive on the paved roads of Nam Et Phou Loue National Park. Then we will set off onto the dirt and head north towards the Vietnamese border.
In the afternoon, you'll tackle thrilling singletrack trails winding through hills and tribal villages. The descent toward the Nam Ou River gets steep, but it's sublime riding and the views of the surrounding limestone mountains are sensational.
Finish the 4th day of your Laos adventure in a beautiful village lying next to the Nam Ou River, where you can relax with sunset beers by the water.

You'll retrace your steps for 20km before heading north, encountering some tough singletrack trails through the hills.
Next, cross the Nam Ou River at a new Chinese dam and continue along small dirt roads. The views here are breathtaking, and you'll have the trails mostly to yourself – apart from the occasional scooters or roaming buffalos.
The villages in this area are picturesque, so you have plenty of chances to stop and interact with the friendly locals. Plus, if you're interested, you can pick up a kilogram of fresh tobacco for less than 10 USD.
Your day will wrap up along the Nam Ou River, where your accommodation is set against the backdrop of towering mountains across the water.

Have breakfast and enjoy peaceful views before starting the final riding day of the 7-day Laos itinerary.
Throw your legs over the motorbike with a fantastic paved road that passes through the countryside. Then, we will direct to Luang Prabang. More beautiful villages and more smiling locals... you may be sad the trip is now coming to an end!
You'll reach the town in the afternoon, stopping for a riverside beer before heading to your hotel.
Enjoy a farewell dinner in town with fellows and a few more celebratory drinks!
