Founded in 2004 with the intention of protecting a section of the Bokeo Forest in northern Laos, Gibbon Experience was first conceived as a tourism conservation project. Today, you will travel six to seven hours by car through the countryside to Nong Khiaw, stopping along the way to take in the amazing scenery.

The Akha, Khmu, Lao Huay, Hmong, and other ethnic groups live in the mountains that encircle Oudomxai Province.

Many of these hill tribes continue to live extremely traditional lives and adhere to their ethnic and local customs despite modernization.
