Set your first foot in Ho Chi Minh City, also referred to as Saigon—the largest city in Vietnam and a dynamic center for business, culture, and entertainment. After eating breakfast at your hotel on day 2, your guide and driver will pick you up around 8:00 A.M. to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Just outside Ho Chi Minh City, this massive underground network of over 250 kilometers once sheltered thousands of Vietcong guerrillas during the Vietnam War.
As you explore, you’ll discover the tunnels' fascinating features, like hidden living spaces, kitchens, hospitals, and even schools. To Feel more adventurous, tourists can crawl through a section of the tunnels and experience firsthand the conditions that the Vietcong endured.
We’ll head back to the center of Ho Chi Minh City by late morning. Lunch is on your own, you can find plenty of local restaurants to try nearby!

On the trip to these islands, we’ll stop at a floating farm to observe the daily life of local people. Here, they raise fish and shrimp – the main export products of the Mekong Delta region.
Then, you will cross the river to visit a traditional workshop and witness the process of making coconut candy and raising honey bees. You can even try making and enjoying the products on the spot while listening to the emotional melodies of Southern folk music.

On our last morning in Vung Tau, I walked by the sea around 6 a.m. It was quiet, just a few joggers and fishermen. The sunrise was soft and calming. That short walk was one of my favorite memories from the whole tour.
The boat ride through the canals was peaceful. I enjoyed seeing how locals live and work near the water. The coconut candy factory was a nice touch. It wasn’t fancy, but that made it feel real. We brought some back as gifts.
Vung Tau beach was better than I expected. Clean sand, gentle waves, and not too crowded. We just lay on the beach all morning and swam with the kids. It was a relaxing end to the trip.
Ben Thanh Market was full of color and life. I got some dried mango and a little souvenir. We also tried local street food like fresh spring rolls and a sweet tofu dessert. That was one of my favorite parts of the city day.
I wasn’t expecting much but Ho May Park turned out to be a fun stop. The cable car view was nice and there were animals like deer and birds. My little girl loved seeing the peacocks. It felt safe and clean for families with kids.
The Mekong Delta was more interesting than I expected. We visited a floating farm where they raise fish and shrimp, then stopped at a small house to try honey tea. My kids liked the boat ride the most. It was simple and fun.
This trip gave us time to learn and time to rest. The Ho Chi Minh City tour was full of stories, and my parents enjoyed the cathedral and the post office. Then Vung Tau gave us space to relax by the sea. The Highlights of Saigon and Vung Tau Beach suited all ages in our group.
I brought my teenage son, and he was fascinated by the Cu Chi tunnels. Crawling through even a short section gave us a small sense of what life underground was like. It was hot and narrow, but very eye-opening.
The pagoda was such a quiet and peaceful place. We visited after lunch and it wasn’t crowded. The big Buddha statues were impressive, and the garden was very green and calm. A good way to rest before heading back to the city.
