Phu Quoc, the largest island in Vietnam, is one of the most appealing tourist attractions in Vietnam.
Sitting off the coast of Cambodia, Phu Quoc possesses 150 kilometers of coastline with unspoiled snow-white beaches with cream-soft land. Moreover, traditional villages, sacred temples and pagodas, and spacious green parks of Phu Quoc can please even perfectly picky travelers.
Not only that, the Phu Quoc tour package offers tourists a wide range of luxury resorts, chic restaurants, and comforting spa treatments.
With these advantages, Phu Quoc has long been an excellent pearl island for those who would like to explore the charming nature and history of Vietnam.
Phu Quoc Island Overview
Fingernail Island, located south of Phu Quoc, is one of the few islands off the coast of Phu Quoc that still retains its pristine scenery. Tourists can take a boat to Fingernail Island and enjoy a day immersed in nature, water waves, and the white sand beach under shady coconut trees.
There are also outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, or diving to see the coral ecosystem.
Long Beach, located on the North Island tourist route and stretching along the northwestern coast of the island, from Ganh Dau to Cua Can, was voted as one of the 13 most beautiful unspoiled beaches in the world. Surrounding the beach are Bai Dai Mountain, lush primary forests, and many high-class tourist resorts.
Long Beach (Bai Dai), Phu Quoc Island
Truong Beach is located in the southwest of Phu Quoc and spans along the coastline for about 20 km. This is the longest and most crowded beach in Phu Quoc. What makes the beach famous is the clear water and smooth golden sand.
Truong Beach is one of Phu Quoc's top tourist attractions, especially for watching the sunset over the sea. So, add this destination to your Vietnam tour package!
It is a famous tourist spot in the heart of Duong Dong Town and also the center of shopping on Phu Quoc Island.
This place enables visitors to enjoy delicious fresh seafood and local specialties of Phu Quoc, as well as do some shopping for local products and handicrafts from the evening until late at night.
The opening hours of this market are from 17:00 to 23:00, and it is especially crowded on weekends.
Visiting Phu Quoc Night Market
Phu Quoc National Park, which is 35 km away from Duong Dong Town in the northeast of Phu Quoc Island, covers the area of the natural conservation zone of the North Island, Ham Rong Mountain, Ganh Dau, and Cua Can.
Thanks to its natural beauty, pristine beaches, and ecotourism potential, Phu Quoc National Park has attracted many tourists every year.
The flora and fauna ecosystem is very rich and diverse, with 470 species of plants and 140 species of wildlife. However, just be careful that one can easily get lost in this area so tourists may need a guide when visiting here.
Dinh Cau Lighthouse and Temple is considered to be the symbol of the island, located just next to the Duong Dong Fishing Harbor.
It is a sacred place worshiped by the people of the island and is believed to bring good things to fishermen, keeping the rain and wind in harmony during the fishing season.
There is also the lighthouse area, where visitors can come to watch the sea and an impressive sunset.

Suoi Tranh Waterfall is one of the most popular ecotourism attractions on Phu Quoc Island, located about 7 km southeast of Duong Dong Town. Its peaceful stream originates from the Ham Ninh Mountain Range and flows into a three-tier waterfall hidden in the dense forest.
From the foot of the stream, visitors can follow the bumpy paved road up to 300 m to explore the mysterious nature, camp, and bathe. This is also a suitable tourist destination for organizing camping trips.
The weather in Phu Quoc is cool all year round, with two distinct seasons: the dry season and the rainy season.
Phu Quoc’s dry season lasts from November to April. During this season, tourists can immerse themselves in the warm sunshine and cool seawater, or sometimes they can even chill out under the light rain. Therefore, the dry season is considered the best time of the year to visit Phu Quoc.
The rainy season falls in the months from May to October. During this period, Phu Quoc usually has long and heavy rainfall. If visitors want to travel to Phu Quoc Island in the rainy season, the North of the Island, like Long Beach or Xep Beach in the South, is the best destination.
As Phu Quoc is an island, the only way to get there is by airplane, boat, or ferry. Phu Quoc has both an international airport and a seaport that are quite convenient for tourists. If visitors travel to Phu Quoc by air, they can either choose direct flights from Thailand, China, Korea, Malaysia, or charter flights from London, Sweden, Italy, Norway, the UK, or Russia.
For those who love traveling by sea to enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the sea, Phu Quoc can offer them a fast ferry from Ha Tien or Rach Gia, or a slow ferry from Ha Tien only. The slow ferry is a great option for those transporting vehicles or seeking a more relaxed journey to the island. The traveling time of the slow ferry is just one hour longer than that of the fast ferry.
When traveling around Phu Quoc, tourists have a variety of transportation options suitable for their needs, hobbies, and budget. They can hire a taxi, catch a bus, rent a motorbike, ride a bicycle, or even travel by boat.
