I liked watching the river life while we cycled along small paths in Cai Lay. Everything moved slowly. People fished, worked in their gardens, and kids played near the water. The ride felt real and simple, not staged. The food was basic but fresh.
The guide was helpful without being pushy. On the way from Hue to Lang Co, we had time to stop for pictures and short walks. The roads were mostly in good shape. I felt supported the whole time, and the support van wasn’t far if someone needed a break.
Cycling around Hoi An gave me a chance to stop and look at things closely. We rode past small shrines, flower gardens, and quiet alleys. The pace was slow, which made it easy to notice the rhythm of the town. We even had time to stop for cold drinks in a small café.
Halong Bay was peaceful and the kayaking added a nice change from cycling. The cruise staff were kind and the cabin was clean and quiet. We joined a short cooking class in the evening which I enjoyed. The sunset from the boat made the day end on a relaxing note.
The ride in Cai Be was easy. We passed lots of canals and gardens with bananas, papayas, and coconuts. At one point, we visited a small candy workshop and saw how things were made. The ferry crossing was fun, and I felt very welcome in the village.
Crossing Hai Van Pass was a challenge, but we had lots of breaks and support. The view at the top was clear and wide. After the pass, the road into Hoian was smooth and quiet. We stopped for a local lunch that turned out to be one of my favorite meals of the trip.
We biked through fruit orchards and stopped at a small house for lunch. The ride wasn’t hard but still gave a good workout. People waved at us from their homes, and some kids followed on bikes. The guide explained a lot about daily life, which made the experience even better.
The cycling route to My Son went past quiet rice fields and small bridges. It was hot, but there were shaded spots to stop. Exploring the temple site after the ride felt well-earned, and we had time to walk around without being pushed along. I liked the mix of history and nature.
