Upon your arrival at Pakse International Airport, you will meet a tour guide and driver, beginning your Laos itinerary for 12 days with a scenic drive through mountains and winding roads up to the Bolaven Plateau. This region, known for its lush jungles, rivers, and diverse ethnic communities, is one of the top places to visit in Laos.

Day 2 of the Laos Itinerary 12 days starts after breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and journey south to the Kiat Ngong Ramsar site. Your first stop will be at Wat Phou, also known as Vat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

Dating back over 1,000 years, Wat Phou is a spectacular pre-Angkorian temple surrounded by rice fields and waterways in southern Laos. You will explore these temple ruins and their structures, which are among the best places to visit in Pakse.

Then, you'll cross the Mekong River and then continue by car to the charming village of Ban Kiat Ngong. This village is part of the Xe Pian National Protected Area, which is home to diverse wetland types like swamps, lakes, peatlands, and marshes. 

Once you arrive, you can settle into your eco-lodge and enjoy a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, a friendly guide will take you on a trek through the lush tropical forest surrounding the famous Vat Phu Asa Temple.

You'll also get to explore archaeological ruins and keep an eye out for endangered wildlife as you wander through the rainforest trails. Afterward, you can return to the Kingfisher Ecolodge in Beung Kiat Ngong Village and spend the rest of the day at your own pace.

In this remote area, you'll find joy in ordinary moments, like watching water buffalo graze and seeing flocks of white birds in the sky and the night stars.

On the 4th day of the Laos Itinerary 12 days, you will explore the stunning Si Phan Don, also known as the "4,000 Islands", a highlight of any Laos Tour. The best way to explore the waters around Don Khone is by kayak. 

This morning, head out with a local guide who can lead you through the calmest and most picturesque waterways, or if you're feeling adventurous, join an experienced kayaker to tackle more challenging rapids.

In the afternoon, we hop on a traditional boat and cruise through the Siphandon archipelago. Discover the peaceful life on this rural island, where locals live simply. Don Khone was once a small settlement during French Indochina, and you'll find a few colonial-era buildings, including an old French railway station. 

Don't miss the impressive Liphi Waterfalls, also known as the "Corridor of the Devil", which mark the natural border between Laos and Cambodia. If you’re lucky, you might spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphins, though their numbers have sadly dwindled.

In the early morning of day 5 of Laos Itinerary 12 days, you will leave Done Khone and head to Pakse Airport for your flight to Vientiane, the peaceful capital of Laos. Upon arrival, your guide will take you to your hotel for check-in and some time to relax before starting your exploration of many places to visit in Vientiane.

You will begin your city tour at Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in Vientiane that survived the Siamese invasion of 1828. The temple’s cloisters are filled with over 2,000 silver and ceramic Buddha images, making it a unique site for any Laos Culture and History Tour. 

Next, you will visit Wat Phra Keo, which was originally built to house the Emerald Buddha. Today, it serves as a museum displaying remarkable Lao and Khmer artifacts.

Your next stop will be the iconic Patuxai Victory Monument, which is reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. You will have the opportunity to climb to the top for sweeping panoramic views of the city. 

After that, you will head to Pha That Luang, the most revered national monument in Laos, constructed by King Setthathirat in the 16th century.

As the day winds down, you will enjoy a walk along the Mekong River during sunset. You can stop for a cold drink or sample some snacks from local food stalls before returning to your hotel to relax for the evening.

After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax before being transferred to the airport for your short flight to Oudomxay, also known as Muang Xai.

Upon arrival, your guide will take you to visit Wat That Pha, a temple perched on a hilltop. From here, you can enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the city and the beautiful mountains at sunset.

You will then check into your hotel in Muang La, where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure. There are therapeutic hot springs, a wonderful way to relax after a day of exploring on Laos Itinerary 12 days.

Today, after breakfast, you will set off on an exciting journey to explore the ethnic diversity and natural beauty of Oudomxay, an important trading hub in Northern Laos. 

The day begins with an early morning 4×4 drive to Pak Khai with breathtaking views of the Nam Pak River, terraced rice fields, and small villages along the way. Upon arrival, you will embark on a trek along winding jungle paths used by locals. 

You'll meet local farmers in the rice fields, and learn about their traditional methods of farming, fishing, and hunting, giving you an authentic experience of Laos Culture and History Tours.

After about 1.5 hours, you will arrive at Ban Phavie, a peaceful Khmu village perched on a hilltop. Following this, the trek continues to the nearby Houay Khai Waterfall, where you can enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch and take a dip in the cool, refreshing waters (weather permitting).

In the late afternoon, you will return to Muang La, with the rest of day 7 on Laos Itinerary 12 days at leisure.

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll depart by road towards Nong Khiaw, a picturesque village located in the Nam Ou River Valley to keep your Laos Itinerary for 12 days. 

Along the way, there will be stops at the Hmong village of Ban Songja, perched on a mountaintop, and the silk-weaving village of Ban Nayang, home to the Tai Lu ethnic group, known for their traditional crafts.

Day 9 you will enjoy breakfast with views overlooking the river and misty valley, and begin your adventure to Muang Ngoy, a remote fishing village. Being less touched by tourism, Nong Khiaw has a tranquil setting with the sounds of birds and cicadas filling the air.

Start your day with a 45-minute boat ride upstream along the scenic Nam Ou River. Along the way, you'll witness local life such as water buffaloes cooling off, villagers fishing, and children playing in the river.

Stop at the small Khmu village of Ban Sopkonh, where you can see the locals' daily lives. From there, we trek through lush farmlands and rice paddies, eventually reaching the stunning Tad Mook Waterfall. Here, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the water and a relaxing picnic lunch amidst nature.

After lunch, return to the river for an exciting kayaking journey back to Nong Khiaw, navigating through gentle rapids as you approach the town.

Start your 10th of Laos Itinerary for 12 days with a short walk over a bridge before you begin the trek up Pha Daeng Peak, also known as Nong Khiaw Viewpoint. The hike will take about 2 hours, guiding you through fields and lush forests. 

When you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the misty valley below, with golden mountain peaks shining in the sunlight. We’ll spend about 1 hour enjoying the scenery and taking photos of the rocks and boulders.

After your trek, walk back down to town for your transfer to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you can choose to relax at your hotel or explore the nearby sights.

You will begin your Luang Prabang Tours early to witness the beautiful alms giving ceremony, known as Tak Bat. Before sunrise, hundreds of monks from 35 temples in the old town collect their daily offerings from devoted locals.

After the ceremony, you can wander through the ancient town of Luang Prabang and explore many places to visit in Luang Prabang. You will start with the magnificent stupa of Wat Wisunarat, one of the most historically significant temples in Luang Prabang.

When you visit Wat That Luang, you'll be exploring the traditional cremation site for Lao royalty. Inside the large stupa built in 1910, you can pay your respects to King Sisavang Vong and his brother, whose ashes are interred there.

You will continue your tour to Wat Xieng Thong, a 16th-century temple that showcases the elegance of Luang Prabang architecture. This temple is known for its classic Lao-style roofs and was one of only two temples spared by the Black Flag army during the invasion in 1887.

We should not miss Wat Mai and the nearby former Royal Palace, now the National Museum. Afterward, you will climb to the top of Mount Phousi, a 100-meter (328 feet) hill crowned by the gilded stupa, That Chomsi, which overlooks the old city center.

You can enjoy a stunning sunset view of the gilded stupa and a panoramic vista of the city and its beautiful surroundings.

You will start your day by exploring Kuang Si Waterfall, one of the most beautiful places in Luang Prabang. You will walk through the jungle to reach the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre, which is close by. While you are there, you will help feed the bears.

After visiting the bear center, you will walk to Kuang Si Waterfall. Here, you can see a 60-meter waterfall that flows into turquoise pools surrounded by trees, or take a dip in the cool water or hike up the trails to see the upper part of the waterfall.

After your visit, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the peaceful park. You will have some free time after lunch to relax or shop in town.

In the afternoon, a driver will take you to Luang Prabang International Airport for your departure.
