After breakfast at your hotel, today’s tour begins with a visit to the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek, about 15 km southwest of the city. This site is a reminder of the tragic history, where over 17,000 people were executed during the Khmer Rouge regime, many having suffered earlier in Toul Sleng Prison.
Next, you'll see the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which was once a high school turned prison and torture center during Pol Pot’s rule from 1975 to 1979.
For lunch, you can choose a local spot (not included in the price).
The afternoon is perfect for exploring. First, visit the busy Russian Market, where you can browse antiques, jewelry, silk, souvenirs, and more. Afterwards, head to the National Museum, a beautiful building displaying Khmer art and architecture from 1917, designed by French architect Georges Groslier.
Dinner is also on your own.

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and meet your driver and guide for the 5-hour journey to Siem Reap, which is approximately a 312 km drive. Post-lunch, we'll take a trip to Kompong Pluk, a floating village about 50 km from Siem Reap, on the edge of Tonle Sap Lake. The road there is good but narrow.
You’ll hop on a boat to explore the unique floating houses and submerged forests that show how people live and work on the water. On your way back, you’ll see more floating houses and bright flooded forests.
After this boat trip, drive directly to your hotel in Siem Reap. Lunch and dinner are at your own expense and arrangements.
Feel free to relax or explore the city after your arrival.

This morning, our friendly guide will meet you in the hotel lobby. The first stop is the stunning Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, renowned worldwide for its incredible beauty and grandeur. As you walk around, you'll see the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer walls of the temple and tells stories from Hindu mythology.
Next, we'll head to the ancient city of Angkor Thom from the 12th century. You’ll get to see the impressive South Gate with giant statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, explore Bayon Temple with its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara, and visit the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Feel free to grab lunch at a local restaurant – you can choose what you like.
In the afternoon, we'll visit one of the most beautiful temples, Ta Prohm, built in the mid-12th to early 13th century. It’s famous for being left partly in its natural state, with huge fig and silk-cotton trees growing through the ruins, creating a wild jungle atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for photos of trees growing right through the temple structures.
Tonight, you’re free to have dinner wherever you prefer.

Phnom Penh gave context, Siem Reap gave awe. Having both cities in one trip made it all feel complete. The countryside drive in between was peaceful and gave a good look at daily life.
Everything was smooth. From airport pickup to hotel check-in to temple visits. I never felt rushed. The night market in Siem Reap was fun too. Great food and handmade souvenirs.
This was my first time in Cambodia and it won’t be the last. The guide explained history in such a real, human way. I came to see temples but left with much more understanding.
Bayon Temple was incredible, but so was the boat ride on Tonle Sap. And the National Museum had such beautiful sculptures. Honestly, I’d do this same route again.
The mix of history and nature made this trip feel balanced. I could reflect, but also explore, eat, and enjoy the pace. The 5 days Phnom Penh - Siem Reap tour was healing in its own way.
From ancient temples to flooded forests, every day was different. My favorite moment? Walking under the massive trees at Ta Prohm. Felt like stepping into another world.
Loved the drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. We saw countryside, stopped for snacks, and the guide shared fun facts all along. It felt less like a tour, more like a road trip with meaning.
The Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng were heavy but important. Then ending the day by the riverside in Phnom Penh watching locals relax gave me a deeper appreciation for the resilience of this country.
Seeing Angkor Wat in real life was already amazing, but what stayed with me was the floating village in Kompong Pluk. The 5 days Phnom Penh - Siem Reap tour had a little bit of everything and felt well thought out.
