Tonle Sap was fascinating. Seeing how whole communities live on the water, with floating schools and shops, made me think about how different life can be. The sunset from the temple nearby wrapped it up perfectly.
Marble Mountains was way better than I expected. Caves with shrines inside, pagodas tucked into the rock, and views over the city and sea. Glad it was early in the day because it does get hot.
Hoian’s old town is perfect for slow exploring. We spent hours just walking, stopping for coffee, and looking at little shops. The cooking class was fun but the lanterns at night are what I’ll remember most. This Central Vietnam and Angkor Temples 7 Days tour was a good mix of busy and relaxed days.
Getting up for Angkor Wat sunrise wasn’t easy, but once the sky turned pink, I forgot how tired I was. The rest of the day was temple after temple but never boring. The guide had a good way of mixing stories and facts.
Vietnam’s food scene stole the show for me. From street snacks in Hoian to the Apsara dinner in Siem Reap, I didn’t have a bad meal. The history side was just as good – Marble Mountains and Angkor felt like completely different worlds but equally impressive.
Banteay Srei was my favorite. It’s smaller than Angkor Wat but the carvings are insanely detailed. The drive out was nice too, seeing more of the countryside. We also visited Kbal Spean that day, and the carvings in the riverbed were something I’d never seen before.
This Central Vietnam and Angkor Temples 7 Days trip packed so much in. Hoian’s lantern streets, Marble Mountains, and then crossing over to Cambodia for the temples. It felt like two vacations in one. Hotels were comfy and the guides made it easy to just enjoy.
The Tonle Sap boat ride felt like stepping into another world. Houses on stilts, kids paddling tiny boats to school, and then that sunset from Phnom Krom temple… it was just a great way to wind down the trip. Definitely a “camera out” kind of evening.
Angkor Thom blew my mind. The size, the carvings, the history… It’s hard to take it all in. The guide explained just enough without overloading us. Ta Prohm was straight out of an adventure movie. Hot tip: carry a small fan and loads of water.
Day 3 was my favorite. Cycling through the fields, riding a water buffalo (felt a bit wobbly but fun), and paddling in a basket boat made it feel like a proper local experience. Lantern-making in the afternoon was the perfect chill end to the day.
I’m not much of a cook, but the Hoian class was a blast. We picked herbs from the garden and made dishes I never thought I could pull off. The boat ride to the cooking school was so peaceful. I’d recommend skipping breakfast that day because you eat a lot.
Loved the mix of Vietnam and Cambodia in one trip. Hoian was calm and charming, while Siem Reap had this vibrant energy. The Marble Mountains stop was a surprise highlight. I didn’t think I’d enjoy climbing caves and pagodas that much. Definitely glad I joined this Central Vietnam and Angkor Temples 7 Days tour.
The Angkor Wat sunrise is worth the early alarm. We stood by the water with a coffee and watched the towers turn golden. The day was packed but never felt rushed. Bayon’s faces were my favorite, and Ta Prohm with the giant tree roots was unreal. Ended with an Apsara dance dinner that was pretty good.
Hoian was the star for me. We wandered the lantern-lit streets at night, grabbed street food for dinner, and just soaked it all in. The cooking class was fun and relaxed, even though I completely messed up my spring rolls. The market visit was a nice peek into daily life. Would happily spend more days there.

Olivia Wong,
HongKongMaking my lantern in Hoian was such a nice hands-on activity. I’m not crafty at all, but mine turned out pretty good. Packed it carefully and took it home – a cool reminder of the trip every time I see it.
