We’ll walk through the riverfront park where four rivers meet, including the famous Mekong, and then hike up to Phnom Daun Penh hill—also the name of the local pagoda and the capital itself.
Your day will end with a visit to the Central Market, built in 1937 in a distinctive dome shape with four extending arms creating spacious hallways filled with countless stalls. The market’s layout was designed by French architect Louis Chauchon.

Today, you'll get to explore some of the most iconic sites in Angkor. You'll start at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, also known as Big Angkor, a massive walled and moated royal city covering 3 square kilometers. This was the last capital of the Angkor Empire.
Next, you'll visit the Bayon Temple, a fascinating structure built over many decades, so it has a bit of a quirky, eclectic feel.
Then, there's the Terrace of the Elephants—a stunning, 300-meter-long wall decorated with carved elephants, standing about two and a half meters tall, right in front of the massive Baphuon temple.
Nearby is the Royal Palace Area, home to the impressive Phimeanakas, a sandstone pyramid, and the Terrace of the Leper King, famous for its detailed carvings of naga serpents, demons, and mythological creatures.
You'll have some free time for lunch at a local restaurant—please arrange this yourself.
In the afternoon, you'll visit Angkor Wat, the most famous temple in the area. Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, it was dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and features five iconic towers. The design of the temple, with its pyramids, corridors, and moats, is an architectural masterpiece from ancient times.
After visiting the temples, enjoy some leisure time at the bars and pubs surrounding the Angkor Night Market.
Dinner is on your own, so feel free to explore.
You'll then head back to your hotel in Siem Reap for the night.

Today, you'll explore the Small Circuit, starting with a visit to Ta Prohm temple – a stunning mix of human ingenuity and natural beauty, where massive trees have grown through the ruins over hundreds of years.
Next, you'll see Prasat Kravan, built by noblemen rather than kings. Then, we’ll visit Banteay Kdei, a sandstone temple that, although quite weathered now, still features some beautiful lintels and pediments.
Afterward, you'll stop at Srah Srang, once a royal bathing pond where the king and his many consorts washed daily. The tour continues to Takeo, a pyramid-style temple from the 10th century, commissioned by King Suryavarman I. It was left unfinished and is dedicated to Shiva.
Next, visit Thommanon, a small but well-preserved temple built at the same time as Angkor Wat. Then, hear about Chau Say Tevoda, built in the second quarter of the 12th century across from Thommanon, dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. You’ll have lunch at a local restaurant on your own.
In the afternoon, you'll take an overland trip to see the emphasizes of the Grand Circuit, including Preah Khan, known as The Sacred Sword, famous for its long corridors and detailed carvings;
Neak Pean, an exquisite temple representing heaven on earth, constructed by Jayavarman VII; Ta Som, a smaller monastic complex with classic Bayon-style architecture; East Mebon, built in the 10th century on an island in the middle of the Eastern Baray; and Pre Rup, also from the 10th century, built by Rajendravarman.
You’ll return to your hotel in Siem Reap for the night, with dinner at your own expense.

The temples were a given, but I also liked the balance of modern life in Phnom Penh. Watching locals go about their day added depth to the experience. And flying between cities saved us so much time.

I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with Cambodia but I did. From the quiet of Neak Pean to the energy of the night market, every stop had something special. Already planning a return trip.
I joined this with my cousin and we both agreed it was one of the best short trips ever. Loved the blend of big sights and small local moments. Khmer food was tasty too.
Angkor Wat at sunset was next level. I’d seen it in photos all my life but being there felt unreal. Also big shoutout to the hotel staff, they were super sweet and helpful.
The genocide museum and Killing Fields were emotional. Hard to take in but necessary. I appreciated how the tour gave space for quiet moments. Then flying to Siem Reap gave a mental reset before the temples.
Phnom Penh was nicer than I thought. Royal Palace was stunning and the National Museum had beautiful displays. The 5 days Phnom Penh - Siem Reap tour was smooth and full of surprises.
Bayon Temple blew my mind. So many faces, so many angles, all smiling. Then Ta Prohm felt like a fairytale. The jungle just takes over. Our guide was awesome and knew where the good photo spots were.
I was worried 5 days might be too short but we saw so much. Loved the local touches like the Russian Market and West Baray. And I still had time to chill at night with street food and music.
Tuol Sleng and Angkor Wat in one trip was a powerful combo. Sad, beautiful, humbling, inspiring. The guide handled everything with care and honesty. This wasn’t just a trip, it was an experience.
I didn’t expect Cambodia to leave such a mark on me. The 5 days Phnom Penh - Siem Reap tour had everything, from royal palaces to ancient temples to heavy history. I learned, I wandered, I took a thousand photos.

Jenny Phuong,
United StatesThe visit to Tuol Sleng was tough emotionally, but important. Then the flight to Siem Reap changed the mood completely. The temples were beautiful and peaceful. I liked that we got free time too, not just following a tight schedule.
