The overland ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh was smoother than I expected. We had fun stops, snacks, and music. Didn’t feel like 5 hours at all. The 4 days Siem Reap - Phnom Penh tour was one of the easiest trips I’ve done.
I came mainly for Angkor Wat, and it lived up to the hype. But Ta Prohm was a surprise fave, nature just taking back the ruins, so wild. Plus, it wasn’t as packed as I thought it would be.
I didn’t expect Phnom Penh to be so green and calm in parts. The Royal Palace was gorgeous. That silver pagoda shimmered in the sun like something out of a fairytale.
I’m a big history nerd, so walking through a thousand-year-old bridge at Kompong Kdei was unreal. No crowds, just peace and ancient stonework. I didn’t even know that bridge existed before this trip.
Tuol Sleng was heavy. I didn’t expect to feel that emotional. But I think it’s something people need to see. It added depth to the trip and made me appreciate the country even more. The 4 days Siem Reap - Phnom Penh tour wasn’t just pretty temples, it was real.
Bayon Temple was my highlight. I’m still thinking about those carved faces. The layout of Angkor Thom was so cool to walk through, like stepping back in time. Loved how chill the pace was too.
We stopped at this tiny town called Skun and tried fried crickets. I almost chickened out but ended up loving it! That’s what I liked most, getting a taste of real, local stuff outside the usual touristy path.
I loved the boat ride on Tonle Sap. Seeing whole families living on water was something I’ll never forget. Our guide even took us to a floating school. Real eye-opener and way more meaningful than I expected.
I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Phnom Penh after loving Siem Reap so much, but the contrast was great. Angkor was peaceful, and then Phnom Penh hit me with the history. The 4 days Siem Reap - Phnom Penh tour was the perfect balance of ancient and modern Cambodia.

Ben,
United StatesI took my dad on this trip and he was blown away by Angkor. We both enjoyed chatting with the guide, who was super knowledgeable and even helped us find some local coffee spots.
