Hoi An is a place for peace of mind. In the old town, the Thu Bồn River meanders past well-preserved shophouses and weathered pagodas. Outside the town, country roads run through rice fields and meet up at a frothy coastline.

Food is also a quintessence of Hoi An. All ingredients are daily brought from outside farms and by fishing boats. You'll have no shortage of fresh vegetables, herbs fruits, and seafood.

The most famous dishes in Hoi An are cao lầu noodles, hoành thánh crispy wonton, and white rose shrimp dumplings. But the humble banh mi is the best seller here.
