Hanoi Overview

Hanoi is the thousand-year-old capital of Vietnam. It is famous for its long-term architecture and rich culture. Here you see the influence of Southeast Asia and France on both culture and architecture. The city center is the bustling old quarter, where you meet narrow streets with the first name of "Hang".

Hanoi is a city with many lakes and parks. In the inner-city area, West Lake is the largest lake covering about 500 hectares. It plays an important role in the urban setting and has many villas and coffee shops surround it. Hoan Kiem Lake is a famous lake in the historic center of the city. It is the busiest area and always holds a special position for Hanoi. Other lakes are Truc Bach, Thien Quang, Thu Le, etc.

The hot and rainy season starts from May to the end of August (summer). The end of the season is cool and dry between September and mid-November (autumn). From the end of November to the first half of February, the weather changes into the cold and remains dry (winter). From the second half of February to the end of March, cold and drizzle lasts in waves (spring).
