Cat Ba, located in the west of Ha Long Bay and off the coast of Hai Phong City is famous for its poetic beauty, fishing villages, small charming beaches, and the National Park – one of the most important biosphere reserves of North Vietnam. The island's national park is home to many plant species and rare animals, for example, the Cat Ba langur which is one of the rarest primate species in the world.
Realizing the potential of Cat Ba Island, Sun Group decided to invest and build a completely new face for the island with giant and top-class projects, the most important being the Cat Ba Cable Car project.

To build a green tourism space with smokeless vehicles and ensure the convenience of connecting tourist destinations, Cat Ba cable car is invested to build with the most advanced technology. The official information shared that the construction only takes place in the outer areas of the island, away from the biosphere reserve.
The cable car not only protects the environment but also gives visitors a great experience, saving time and moving smoothly. The most charming thing for travelers is the special experience when enjoying a natural masterpiece from the ideal height of the cable car.
The Cat Ba Cable Car is a total of 21 km long, with 5 main stations connecting Cat Hai Island to Cat Ba center, expected to be completed in 18 months. In particular, the first cable car connecting Cat Hai Island - Phu Long will be the largest cable car in the world with a capacity of 5,500 passengers/hour.
With the devotion to this project, the investor of the project - Sun Group - has invited the best international experts and a team of professional engineers to consult and implement to ensure the success of the project. In addition, Sun Group always ensures the safety and quality of all cable car routes by using sturdy cabins and world-class cables.
Cat Ba Cable Car - Customer
Cat Ba Cable Car project is in the master plan of a 5-star Cat Ba - Hai Phong resort project that promises to bring the best experiences and the most complete enjoyment moments for each tourist when coming here.
In addition to the Ba Na Hills Cable Car project (Da Nang) with a Guinness record, Sun Group is also very successful in other cable car projects such as Queen's Cable Car (Ha Long), Hon Thom Cable Car (Phu Quoc), Ba Den Mountain Cable Car (Tay Ninh)...
In the past, due to the long travel time from Hanoi, and the inconvenience of transportation, the number of international tourists was quite modest. However, when the Cat Ba cable car is inaugurated, it reduces travel times as well as provides a brand-new experience. Plus, Cat Ba will soon become “a star of the North” regarding inbound tourism with many more international standard resort projects shortly.
To Cat Ba, tourists can relax on some small sandy beaches. On weekends in summer, it might be crowded with domestic tourists so you might wish to stay there on other days of the week. Cat Ba is not the Number 1 for beachgoers because the beaches here are not as large as in Nha Trang, Danang, Phan Thiet, and Phu Quoc. However, the convenience here is that: you can explore the mountain, the forest, and the beach in just one day because Cat Ba has them all!
Cai Beo Fishing Village
The Cat Ba National Park is one of the most famous names for forest lovers with lots of rare animals and florals, offers great hiking in the daytime to explore the jungle and enjoy a magnificent view when you are on the Ngu Lam mountaintop.
After a day of hiking and walking in the forest, you can relax on the beach and swim in the aquamarine waters then enjoy fresh seafood. These are the most special and interesting things that a Cat Ba trip might bring you.
Some small villages on the Cat Ba archipelago might be interesting to visit and to learn about the local life. You can also take a bike ride around Viet Hai village near Cat Ba National Park to explore the surroundings.
